Andy Stewart

Co-founder, Board Member, President

My first encounter with Africa was in 1999. I went to Uganda with 6 other men from my church to help build the first school building for Patrick and Eva Walusimbi and Maranatha Christian Schools in the town of Mityana. I immediately fell in love with the people and the culture. I was also filled with a passion to help those in need who are unable to help themselves.

In 2005, I began work raising money and taking teams to Uganda to help construct buildings and water projects. In 2009 I added a child sponsorship program to provide ongoing support to orphans and vulnerable children in need.

My motivation for founding True Impact is based on Ephesians 2:10, “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God has prepared in advance for us to do.” Believing this truth has led me on multiple short term mission trips to Africa, including Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda and Zambia.

I live in Castle Rock, Colorado, and enjoy hiking, biking and travel with my wife, Heather. When not volunteering with True Impact, I make my living working for a commercial construction firm based in Denver.
