Michelle & Julia Hoffman Memorial Children’s Home

The Michelle & Julia Hoffman Memorial Children's Home was established in honor of two women who lost their lives in a tragic car accident. Their compassion and faith continue to inspire everything we do.

Since 2013, True Impact Ministries has worked with social worker Racheal Mwenze to provide a safe and loving environment for children who have faced some of life’s most difficult circumstances.

Located near Jinja, Uganda, the Hoffman Home serves as both a residence and a place of restoration for 50 children. Many of these children have lost parents or have been displaced due to poverty, illness, or crisis. Here, they find not only shelter but also consistency, care, and the support of a family-style community.Our first projects included the construction of two dormitories, giving boys and girls separate spaces where they could live with dignity and safety.

We also built a clean water well, ensuring the children have reliable access to safe drinking water. A perimeter security wall was added to protect the property and give children a true sense of home. Additional infrastructure and improvements have followed, helping to meet the growing needs of the home and those who live there.

All of the children at the Hoffman Home attend As One Secondary School in Iganga. They receive full support through True Impact's sponsorship program, which covers school tuition, meals, uniforms, and the personal care they need to succeed.

The home itself is run by Racheal Mwenze, whose deep compassion and hands-on leadership make her more than a caregiver. She is a trusted guide, mentor, and advocate for each child under her care. What makes the Hoffman Home special is the spirit that fills it. It is a place marked by joy, safety, structure, and opportunity.

The children here are not just surviving. They are growing into confident, educated, and faith-filled young people who are learning how to lead and serve others.
