Since 2005, True Impact Ministries has partnered with Pastors Patrick and Eva Walusimbi to support school campuses in and around Mityana. These schools provide access to education, safety, and opportunity for children in both rural and urban communities.
Nkonya was the first location where True Impact began its work in Uganda. This remote fishing village had no permanent school buildings until we helped construct classrooms and a pit latrine in 2005. Additional classrooms were added in 2008, followed by a teacher dormitory in 2010 and a student dormitory in 2015.
At its peak, the school served 180 students. Today, it continues to provide a vital path to education in a region that once lacked basic infrastructure.
Kigalama is a small farming village where we began building in 2009. We expanded the campus in 2012 and again in 2021 with the construction of a new three-room school building, replacing older wooden structures. The project also included updated sanitation and a proper kitchen facility.Kigalama now serves 250 students and is an active part of the community. There are plans for future expansion to meet growing educational demand.
Located closer to the center of Mityana town, the Mizigo campus includes both primary and secondary schools. While True Impact has not yet built facilities here, we began sponsoring students at Mizigo in 2017 to help cover tuition and other school-related costs. In 2025, our mission team will begin construction on new classrooms to serve even more students and improve the campus environment.
