Salem Children Centre

In 2006, True Impact Ministries began a partnership with Pastor Alex Businge that would grow into one of our most meaningful and enduring initiatives. Located in the village of Naama, Salem Children Centre was created to provide a safe, stable home for orphaned and vulnerable children who had nowhere else to go.

Our very first project here was the construction of a dormitory that would offer shelter, security, and a sense of belonging to children who had experienced significant loss. Over the years, this space has grown into more than a home. It is a community built on care, consistency, and the love of Christ.In 2009, we officially launched our child sponsorship program at Salem. Through the support of sponsors, each child receives not only food, housing, and clothing but also access to education and regular emotional and spiritual support. Children attend local primary and secondary schools and return each day to a place where they are known, supported, and encouraged to dream.

Today, the Salem Children Centre cares for 70 children full-time. Each one of them is given the chance to grow up in a nurturing environment, surrounded by people who believe in their future. Many of the children who came to Salem during its early years have gone on to finish secondary school and pursue vocational training or further education.

This is a place where futures are rewritten. What started as one dormitory has become a life-giving hub of hope for children who were once overlooked or abandoned. Through continued support, we are able to meet physical needs, foster spiritual growth, and walk with these children toward lives of purpose and possibility.
